One landscape, several experiences

A Bromo visit brings together an early-morning viewpoint, an open volcanic caldera and a walk towards the crater. The private jeep journey starts around Cemoro Lawang; the route and viewpoint are coordinated with your local guide according to conditions on the day.

You can travel overnight from Surabaya or Malang, or arrive the day before and stay at a hotel around Bromo. Both options share the same main sunrise and crater experience.

From sunrise to the Sea of Sand

Sunrise viewpoints

Set out before dawn for Prau Hill or King Kong Hill. Take in the volcanic landscape as daylight arrives; the final viewpoint and visibility depend on local conditions and weather.

Widodaren & the caldera

Continue by jeep to Widodaren for a photo stop with the caldera and Mount Batok as the backdrop. This is a chance to see the landscape from a different perspective after sunrise.

Mount Bromo crater

From the jeep parking area, continue on foot towards the crater. This part involves walking and steps. Discuss your comfort with walking with us when planning your visit.

Horse riding across the Sea of Sand is optional and costs extra. It is not included in the standard tour price.

A continuous overnight journey for travellers who prefer a sunrise trip without an overnight hotel stay.

Pickup around midnight from Surabaya or Malang.
Travel directly to Cemoro Lawang, then continue by private jeep.
Sunrise viewpoint, Widodaren and the Bromo crater route.
After the jeep tour, breakfast at a local restaurant is included.
Return to the original pickup city; another drop-off city costs extra.

Arrive the day before, check in at a hotel around Bromo and rest before the early jeep departure.

Pickup can be arranged from Surabaya, Malang, Banyuwangi or Yogyakarta.

Before you plan your visit

Do I need to stay overnight at Bromo?

No. The Midnight Tour starts from Surabaya or Malang around midnight without a hotel. Choose the 2D1N option if you would like to stay around Bromo the night before the sunrise trip.

Is sunrise guaranteed?

The tour visits a sunrise viewpoint, but clear views and sunrise visibility depend on the weather.

Is horse riding included?

No. Horse riding is optional and requires an additional payment.

Can I finish in a different city?

Yes, please tell us your preferred drop-off city when requesting an itinerary. For the Midnight Tour, a different drop-off city carries an additional charge.

How much does a private trip cost?

Your quotation depends on group size, pickup and drop-off locations, hotel choice where applicable, and other requested destinations. We confirm the arrangements and price before booking.
