However, you have to make sure that you are in good condition since you have to do trekking for about 5 hours in order to reach Kumbolo Lake. Even though you can rent porter to bring your belongings, your body has to be fit. It is strongly recommended to ask for help from porters and tour guide when you are heading to the crater. So, it will be much easier for you to climb. During the trekking, you also will be find some attractions like Ranu Pane, Ranu Regolo, Ranu Kumbolo, Kalimati, and summit of Semeeru which is popular with the name Jonggring Saloko.

Mount Semeru trekking tour 4 days 3 nights detail itinerary as follow :

Day 1 : From Surabaya Airport To Rani Pane Village (approximately 2.200 m)
You will be picked up in Surabaya Airport, hotel, or train station and the shuttle will take you to Ranu Pane Village. It is located in altitude 2.200 m. From the Airport into the vallage, it takes about 5 hours. The homestay in Ranu Pane has been prepared for you. It is the place where you will be staying while you are on holiday.

Day 2 : Start Trekking from Ranu Pane (2.200 m) To Kalimati (2.700 m)
The activity starts at 7 am. There will be about 2 hours for you to have breakfast. At 9, you need to do registration at Semeru Post Centre. The next, you will be ready to start trekking to Ranu Kumbolo 2.400 m. It takes about 4 hours. Having arrived at Ranu Kumbolo, you will have time to rest and have lunch for couple of minutes. Then, trekking continues at 1 pm in order that you will be arrived at Kalimati around 4 pm since it takes about 3 hours trekking. Porters will give you a help to set up the tent and cook food for dinner when you arrive at Kalimati.

Day 3 : Trekking from Kalimati Camp (2.700 m) to Semeru Summit (3.676) and Ranu Kumbolo (2.400 m)
In order that you arrive at the top of Mount Semeru just the time when the sun rises, you have to move from Kalimati Camp around 11.30 pm. Make sure that you have breakfast like banana pancakes or toast. Dring a cup of coffee or tea. You will have lunch in the lake while enjoying some activities like fishing. Possibly, you can enjoy the beautiful view there while waiting for the night comes. You can seet up campfire, enjoying the sky with the stars, doing fun activities like having dinner and singing together in Ranu Kumbolo.

Day 4 : Ranu Kumbolo (2.400 m) to Ranu Pane (2.200 m) and Surabaya
Since you spend the night in Ranu Kumbolo, you will also see sunrise there. You need to hurry up to have breakfast at 6 am since you need to continue trekking to Ranu Pane Lake. It is the end of the trip. Car will be provided to take you to Surabaya or Malang. Finally, Mount Semeru trekking tour 4 days 3 nights comes to an end.
